Is there a better way to start off the month of December than dressing up as Santa Claus with 2,000 other people and doing a 5K? This is what my ELGA Wellness Team did! Since this is the last race of the season for the ELGA Wellness Team, I wanted to start it off right. Before the race we visited The Flint Crepe Company in downtown Flint and let me tell you, if you want to start your day off right, this is the place to do it! Amazing food, phenomenal service, and a great atmosphere! After breakfast we walked back to the YMCA for the start of the race. While walking up, you were surrounded by thousands of smiling faces all dressed in Santa suits and you could hear a Christmas choir caroling. We were literally taken back to a simpler time where believing in holiday magic was so easy to do. An incredible time was had by all as we smiled and joked for 3.1 miles. There was even milk and cookies at the water station! At the finish line, we were given our medals and directions to the Flint Farmers’ Market where our kids could see Santa and frost sugar cookies. I already love the Flint Farmers’ Market, but this made it even more endearing to me. What an awesome way to end such an amazing year for the ELGA Wellness Team. These are my people, my clan, my extended family. I adore each of them and cannot wait for 2019 because I know it’s going to be even better than ever!
