Originally started by the Zonta Club of Lapeer, the organization has passed this community event on to the Forty and Eight. Admission is $3.50 per child. Adults can walk along with their children for $1 each. Refreshments will be available at the event for an additional charge. Costumes, strollers and wagons are welcome. This family event focuses on the fantasy side of Halloween as opposed to the scary side that is often associated with the holiday. Stations throughout the park offer activities, games and Halloween goodies for children. Cartoon and storybook characters will interact with families along the park trail. Funds raised through Fantasy Forest are used to support local service projects provided by the Forty and Eight such as nursing scholarships, assistance for children in Lapeer County whose homes have been devastated by fire, Holiday Depot, veteran support and the promotion of Americanism.
