Last weekend several ELGA associates participated in the 2019 Dodging for Dollars event to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Flint. ELGA is honored to support the Boys and Girls Club as the work they do in our community is so impactful to our youth and their families. This is our third time participating in the event and our first opportunity to be the presenting sponsor.  We were very excited to support this event financially as well as hands on participation from ELGA associates and their families.

Our Own MVP

We were able to double our fun and impact by entering two teams into the tournament this year.  This worked out very well as this was the first year that we actually made it out of the loser’s bracket. One of our teams was able to finish second place overall and ELGA’s very own Cody Hodge was named the MVP of the tournament. Although we are very happy with supporting our community and participating in these types of events, we really do like to win! With that being said, I am pretty confident that the practice we had a few days before the event really made a difference in our dodge ball playing abilities.

The tournament concluded with group photos, camaraderie amongst the different teams, as well as an awesome lunch from Buffalo Wild Wings. We really want to take this opportunity to recognize the awesome work that is done at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Flint! On behalf of ELGA Credit Union and all of the associates that participated in the Dodging for Dollars event, thank you!  We appreciate the work you do. We are grateful you planned an event that brought out the kid in all of us as it reminded us of a time when having fun was the most important job we had!
