Davison Christmas Parade

Did you hear the Christmas Carols?

Did you see the Christmas Lights?

Did you feel the Christmas Magic?

Thirteen ELGA associates along with their families felt the spirit of Christmas as they gathered on Main Street in the heart of Davison on Friday, December 7th, 2018 to walk in the Davison Downtown Hometown Christmas Parade. The theme this year was “Light Up A Hometown Christmas” and that is exactly what ELGA employees did with their festive holiday sweaters, and light-up necklaces and Santa hats. Davison’s Parade Committee and its Davison Downtown Development Authority put on a dazzling display of lights, music, and warming stations.  Santa himself even made an appearance!

The chilly weather and sprinkling of snow only added to the holiday cheer as we all lined up to walk in support of our local businesses. You could hear the Christmas carols for blocks and see lights for at least a mile. It was a great turnout which reminded us of how loved Davison is by everyone living in the community. Small town values and traditions are what make up Davison’s charm.

The charm that Davison holds, the magic of Christmas, and the fact that I grew up in Davison is why I choose to be the champion for this event. This event was held in Downtown Davison and it was the perfect place considering Downtown is where it all started and it is the heart of Davison. Though Downtown has had many face lifts over the years, it has never lost the hometown vibe. When I saw Davison was doing a Christmas parade this year, I asked right away to see if we could participate. I was very excited to participate in this event and everyone seemed to get in the holiday spirit with this one. Since most of the community was in attendance of this event, ELGA was proudly represented by many employees passing out candy to all the children that braved the cold to attend. ELGA loves participating in community events alongside both our members and businesses, keeping our relationships strong. It was so exciting that as we were walking people yelled about ELGA being their credit union and telling us we are the best! We love our members and the community of Davison!
