One of my favorite ELGA employee perks is the ELGA Wellness Team.  It is a great way to work on our wellness and it allows us to build relationships with our fellow ELGA associates outside of work.  I love that all of the races we participate in are located throughout our community and that the proceeds go to great local causes.

Some of my favorites races are the Burton Race Series.¬† The Burton Race Series¬†consists¬†of four races held each year throughout Burton.¬† The first one,¬†which takes place in¬†February, is the Burton Kiwanis Hot Fudge Run.¬† The second and third are the Race2Grace and City of Burton Memorial Day Run & Walk¬†in May.¬† The last one is the Veterans Honor Run in November.¬† If you run at least three out of the four races you receive a medal (proudly sponsored by ELGA Credit Union) at the last race!¬† Even though it is too late to get a medal THIS year, it isn’t too late to sign up for the Veterans Honor Run.

The¬†ELGA Wellness Team participated in the Race2Grace and the City of Burton Memorial Day Run & Walk over the last few weeks.¬† The Race2Grace is an annual fundraising event for Faithway Christian Schools.¬† The¬†purpose of the City of Burton Memorial Day Run & Walk is to commemorate the men and women who died while in military service, to support our schools by providing supplies to disadvantaged children, and to promote a healthy lifestyle in the City of Burton.¬† I personally participated in both races and had a great time.¬† I’m excited to¬†run in the¬†Veterans Honor Run and earn my medal.
