On Thursday, May 31st and Friday, June 1st ELGA Credit Union participated in the 11th Annual Mott, Motown & More Celebrity Lip-sync! The Mott, Motown & More Celebrity Lip-sync is a fundraiser organized by The Foundation for Mott Community College with the goal of keeping low tuition costs for students. The theme for this year’s performance was 70s and 80s era music. People from all over the community came to perform as well as to witness an amazing show! Businesses were represented from all over the county, Mott Community College dance students, and even Mayor Dr. Karen Weaver along with individuals from her staff were among the performers.

ELGA Credit Union was the title sponsor for this year’s lip-sync and Mrs. Lennetta Coney, President of The Foundation for Mott Community College was more than gracious in her introduction of ELGA. The show started with sponsors, Mrs. Coney, and even choreographers from the show dancing down the isles handing out glow sticks to the audience. Once everyone was on stage they formed a soul train line and danced two by two. After a few minutes of dancing, everyone vacated the stage and Lennetta and Liz, who chaired the committee for the event, began welcoming the audience to this tremendous occasion. As a part of the opening, Mrs. Coney allowed Kevin Galloway, to come out and represent ELGA as the title sponsor. Mrs. Coney shared, “If you are considering a loan or a financial service of any kind, try ELGA Credit Union for all of your banking needs!” ELGA Credit Union was not only represented as a title sponsor, but there were also ELGA associates who performed in the show. Tyler Caryl, Kevin Galloway, Mindi Johnson, Kitya Shepherd, and Nicole Winningham performed the Dazz Band’s, “Let it Whip,” complete with full costumes and choreography!

It was an absolute pleasure to attend and perform in the show, as the event was geared specifically to assist Mott Community College with keep affordable tuition rates. As a previous student of Mott Community College, I understand how affordable tuition is, but more importantly I understand how essential education is for every generation. It is on this premise that we thought to not only participate in the event, but to be a title sponsor in an effort to aid the foundation in their cause. We look forward to performing once again next year.
