The 23rd Fantasy Forest is happening this Saturday, Oct. 13, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (the last children admitted to the trail will be at 3 p.m.) at Rowden Park in Lapeer. The cost is $4.00 per child, $1.00 to just walk the trail.

Rowden Park is located off of M-24 across from McLaren in Lapeer.

This is a non-scary, family event. Kids will be able to stop at booths sponsored by local area businesses to get treats, see cartoon and storybook characters, interact with fun activities, and enjoy a walk along the gorgeous park trails. Children will be given a bag for their treats and a program book.

The trail is barrier free and blacktopped for ease of use for anyone wanting to attend. It’s that perfect time of year to see the colors starting to change and the cooler temps for optimum costume wearing! Refreshments will be available at the event for an additional charge. Costumes, strollers and wagons are welcome.

The 40 et 8 promotes this event. Funds raised through Fantasy Forest allow Lapeer County Voiture 1536 to support local service projects provided by the Forty & Eight: Nursing scholarships, Holiday Depot, Child Welfare, LACADA, Lapeer County Young Marines, Child Advocay Center of Lapeer, Family Literacy Center, Operation Care Package of MI, NB Area Schools Special Olympics Area 13, Kiwanis Club of Lapeer Sunrise Backpack, Lapeer County Deputies Association, Pregnancy Resource Center of Lapeer.

You may remember some of our more memorable booths; The mad scientists (we won a people’s choice award for that one!), Mother Nature’s Money Manufacturing, ELGA Superheros, The 60’s Throwback, The Red Carpet Treatment, Under the Sea from 2016, and way back to the beginning for us, the Critter Corral with the crazy crow lady.

This is ELGA’s 12th year at this great event, and our theme this year is The Peanut’s Great Pumpkin Patch. It’s going to be a lot of fun! Our Lapeer associates are super awesome! Come out and say hi to us! We love when we get to see our members at these super fun events! The weather looks dry with temps in the low 50’s. It’s a great time for a great cause!
