It was a beautiful night in downtown Davison as the ELGA staff headed out to the 72nd Davison Festival of Flags. The city of Davison hosts the annual Festival of Flags in early June kicking off the festivities with a parade. The excitement was in the air as everyone knows festivals mean the start of summer, carnival rides, popcorn, cotton candy and who could forget the fireworks!!!

ELGA Credit Union loves our communities and the members we serve, so it seemed only fitting with two branches located in Davison for us to participate in this great event! I have a special place in my heart for this community, not only do I live and work in Davison; I was born and raised here. Now my two children are doing the same!

As the ELGA staff and their families walked down Main Street in Davison it was easy to see, hear and feel how ELGA Credit Union has impacted not only our community, but also our members’ lives. It was heartwarming to hear people yell out like: “ELGA is my credit union,”  “Did you see ELGA raised a large amount of money with ABC12 in the diaper drive,” “Thank you for helping me with my loan,” and I even heard, “Hey those are my ELGA girls!”

It was very clear that our impact not only in our members’ lives, but in the community as well, was felt on the warm, summer breeze in historic downtown Davison. The hometown community that I loved so much as a child now has a little different meaning for me. It warms my heart to know that I work for a company that truly enriches people’s lives and has a wonderful impact on our community. I am thankful to be part of ELGA Credit Union and my hometown of Davison.
