ELGA Taste in Fenton

Taste in Fenton

It’s the age old question that seems to perplex so many, “What do you want for dinner?”¬† We all¬†also know the pang of frustration when¬†the response to that very question is a shrugged, “I don’t know.”¬†¬†On Wednesday¬†evening¬†the Fenton Regional Chamber of Commerce helped relieve the stress of deciding what was for dinner, and offered an array of choices that were sure to please everyone’s taste buds¬†at the 17th Annual Taste in Fenton.¬†

The Taste in Fenton was held on the grounds of the¬†Fenton Community & Cultural Center,¬†which has been serving the Fenton Community since 1938.¬† The event was held¬†from 4-8pm, but¬†set-up began earlier in the day.¬†¬†Everyone’s anticipation grew¬†as delicious smells began to waft throughout the¬†downtown Fenton area. ¬†There were many local restaurants and breweries serving up quite a feast, including: Beale St Smokehouse BBQ, Hungry¬†Howies, Mama K’s¬†Caf√©, VG’s Bakery, VG’s¬†Deli, Biggby¬†Fenton, Tropical Smoothie¬†Caf√©, Wellbridge¬†of Fenton, The Laundry, El¬†Topo, Bangkok Peppers Food Truck, Halo Burger Food Truck, La Marsa, Canadian Steak & Fish, Crust, Fenton Fire Hall, The Corner Bar & Grill, Culver’s, Leo’s Coney Island, Spring Meadows Country Club, and The Green Olive Tree.

Food wasn’t the only thing on the menu for the evening’s activities.¬† It was a full night of great family fun!¬† There was a live band, a beer tent, a kids’ zone, and many raffles and drawings with great prizes to be had.¬† Other popular event activities¬†included the Beer Stein-holding contest, an adult pie eating contest, and a kids doughnut eating contest.

ELGA was excited to be an event sponsor this year and to have a tent in the main thoroughfare.  Taste testing new food options is never a bad gig, but most importantly, it afforded us the opportunity to meet many new faces and build even stronger relationships with current members.  We are looking forward to the Taste in Fenton next year!
