ELGA Credit Union proudly awarded two Goodrich High School Seniors with plaques as they were selected as Scholar Athletes of the Month.

Receiving this award is Morgan Swett.  Morgan was nominated for this award because of her devotion to academics, athletics and her community.  Morgan is an outstanding academic student who is a member of the National Honor’s Society. She is involved in a variety of extracurricular activities providing countless hours of volunteer work.  Her coach had this to say, “I have been fortunate to witness firsthand the incredible initiative and strong dedication Morgan has demonstrated in learning the game of golf. She played a pivotal role in leading the Lady Martians to their third consecutive GAC Championship.  Morgan is a unique young lady who has demonstrated many life skills such as leadership, communication, integrity, respect, and most important sportsmanship.  These are the important skills that provide the hallmark of healthy competition and the foundation needed to ensure success of any individual, program or community.” Great job Morgan on being such a shining example for those that you come in contact with every day!

Also receiving this award is Jimmy McMillan.  Jimmy was selected for this award due to his leadership on and off the tennis court. He maintains a 3.889 GPA while balancing schools, varsity sports, music instruction, and friends. His coach says, “I have noticed Jimmy encourage, lead and show kindness not only in small group classroom settings but in large team events as well.  He was voted by his peers to represent the class on homecoming court as well as being selected as senior team captain. His sportsmanship and on-court leadership is one of the major reasons for the team’s stellar reputation. Jimmy’s personality and leadership has commanded respect from his school, team and community.”  Congratulations Jimmy on paving a path of integrity, sportsmanship and respect for others to follow!
