If you asked me 2 years ago would I be waking up at 6 am on a Saturday morning to run a 5k I would have laughed hysterically at you for even mentioning it.  Fast forward to July 9th, 2016 as I completed my 10th race with my ELGA running family and I feel so proud and refreshed.

My 10th race was the 2016 Bastille Day 15K Run / 5K Run & Walk in Fenton, Michigan. It was an intense race as it took place throughout Downtown Fenton and the surrounding neighborhood- Denton hill included. This race was to benefit the Genesee County Habitat for Humanity which is an organization that loves to give back to the community as much as ELGA.

It was also a proud moment that three of our ELGA associates challenged themselves to run the 15 K! I don’t know about you, but to me that’s some serious running GOALS right there! Running through the beautiful neighborhoods was so astounding. At the finish line we were greeted with live music, yummy slices of bread courtesy of CRUST, and some delicious keg root beer that reminded me of those little barrel candies my grandparents used to give to me.

There is honestly no better feeling than running across a finish line, it’s the most rewarding and empowering rush. I look forward to many more races in the future!
